COVID-19 vaccines are not for sale, warns police
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
National police have sent out a public warning that COVID-19 vaccines cannot currently be purchased online or in-person and if they are, they are fake.
It comes after officials conducted a raid at a warehouse in Germiston in Gauteng in November.
Police say four people were arrested after being found in possession of over 2 400 doses of the fake jabs and fake masks worth 6 million rand.
Police spokesperson, Brenda Muridili says no approved vaccines are currently available for sale online or physically.
"Any person who buys these drugs is putting themselves at risk and giving their money to organised criminals.

She says the police will continue to investigate anyone in the organised syndicates trying to enrich themselves by smuggling and distributing unregistered medicine.
"Anyone with knowledge of any company or individual selling COVID-19 vaccines must report it to police."
