Boy in Mariannhill near-drowning dies

A Mariannhill boy who was rushed to hospital after nearly drowning has died.
The three-year-old was found by a neighbour - who'd heard cries and splashing coming from the Holzner Avenue home yesterday afternoon.
Netcare911's Shawn Herbst says the child was in intensive care.
"He was taken through to casualty via ambulance. The child was seen by the casualty doctor who then admitted him through to the ICU where another resuscitation was initiated."

Herbst says according to the nursing staff at the hospital - the child has passed away.
