Boy, eight, dies in PMB hit-and-run

An eight-year-old boy has been killed in an alleged hit and run incident on Boshoff Street in Pietermaritzburg.
Paramedics who treated the child this morning say they found him lying on the pavement.
"Upon further assessment, paramedics found that he showed no signs of life. We declared the boy dead on scene," she says.

ER24's Ineke Van Huyssteen says police officers were also on scene.
"It's believed the boy was killed after an alleged hit and run. And two of his friends, believed to also be eight-years-old, pulled him out of the road and onto the pavement. The exact circumstances are not yet known to paramedics," she says.
