Woman killed in single-vehicle crash near Pinetown
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A woman has been killed after losing control of the bakkie she had been driving along Milky Way Road - outside Pinetown.
The bakkie crashed off the main road and through trees before coming to a stop on a gravel road. Four other people were hurt in the single-vehicle accident.
Paramedics say they arrived on the scene finding that the vehicle had overturned - coming to rest on its side.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says the woman was declared dead at the scene.
"A further four patients have suffered serious injuries with one patient sustaining critical injuries. The scene is still active - patients are being treated on the scene and will be mobilised to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they require," he says.
