Boy drowns in Umlazi pool

A 13-year-old boy has drowned at a public swimming pool in
Umlazi, south of Durban.

Emergency services were called to G Section just before 1pm.
Initial reports are that lifeguards found the teen submerged in the water.

He was pulled from the pool and found to be unresponsive and CPR was initiated.
Netcare911 says the child’s condition deteriorated and he was declared dead at the scene.
The events leading up to the incident are unknown at this stage.
