Boy (13) killed in blaze at apartment in Durban CBD

A boy who's believed to be around 13 years old has died in a fire at a block of flats in the Durban CBD.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said when they arrived on the scene on Dr Yusuf Dadoo Street on Wednesday, they found a portion of an apartment block engulfed in flames.
"The fire was on the 6th floor of an apartment building. Multiple patients sustained smoke inhalation and were treated by paramedics. Four have been transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that they required.

"A team from ALS Paramedics was dispatched up to the 6th floor, and unfortunately, they found a little boy believed to be approximately 13 years of age who unfortunately succumbed to the injuries sustained in the fire.
"SAPS is in attendance, and the entire road has been closed. The different fire departments, together with the SAPS, will be doing a thorough investigation as to what caused this horrific blaze."
