Boy, 12, injured in Pinetown car accident

A 12-year-old boy has been seriously hurt after being hit by a car in Pinetown's Westmead area.

Netcare911's Athlenda Mathe says the boy was knocked over at the corner of Goodwood and Hillclimb roads just after 8am.

"It is alleged that the boy who was on his way to school was running across to the other side of the road when he was hit by a light motor vehicle.
"Netcare 911 paramedics managed to stabilise the injured boy on scene before transporting him for to a nearby hospital for further medical care," she said.
Meanwhile, four people were hurt - three of them seriously - after an accident on Durban's Margaret Maytom Avenue and Adelaide Tambo Drive.
Reports from the scene suggest a vehicle veered off the road and collided into an electrical pole before crashing into a wall.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
