More than a dozen people have been hurt after a taxi overturned on the N2 near Shaka's Rock on the north coast.
The vehicle came to a rest on the centre median, affecting traffic travelling towards both Durban and KwaDukuza.
Netcare911's Chris Botha says six of the passengers were critically injured.
"When we triaged and examined all the injured, we found that a total of 17 people sustained injuries. Six of them were in a serious condition - eleven had sustained relatively minor injuries.
