Both genders play role in eliminating violence: advocate

A social cohesion advocate says a violence free society has to be one that is inclusive of all genders, ages, races and backgrounds.

Yaa Ashantewaa-Ngidi addressed an event in KwaDukuza on the north coast - marking the end of Women's Month.

She has told hundreds of people at the Groutville Sports Grounds that society too often ends up bashing men when focusing on protecting women.
"We are saying we do not want violence against women, men, children or anybody. The nation of South Africa will all continue to strive towards inclusivity for everybody. Men, women, white, pink, black or Indian - don't worry this country will guarantee your inclusivity," she says.
