Bongo, co-accused to go on trial in January

Former state security minister Bongani Bongo, his former wife Sandile and ten others will go on trial next January.
The trial is in connection with the sale and purchase of a R37.5m farm in Mpumalanga.
The accused made a brief appearance at the Mbombela Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

They are collectively facing a total of 69 counts of corruption, fraud, theft, money laundering and contravention of the Public Finance Management Act.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Sipho Ngwema says the case has been set down for two months.
The accused are out on bail.
