Body of missing Verulam boy found

The search for a little boy who went missing at a river in Verulam this weekend - has ended in tragedy.
The child's body was discovered late yesterday afternoon.
The 12-year-old had drowned while playing at the water's edge, on Saturday afternoon.
"The body was found by members of the community together with lifeguards who were there to assist. We have opened a case of inquest at the Verulam police station for further investigation," the police's Thulani Zwane said.

Meanwhile, an Umlazi family whose little girl disappeared under similar circumstances on Friday - is still on tenterhooks.
Despite intensive search efforts spanning the weekend, the nine-year-old remains missing. Zwane says police will continue to look for her.
