Body of missing toddler found near Mandeni

The body of a toddler who went missing has been found floating in a stream near Mandeni on the north coast.
According to IPSS Medical Rescue, paramedics and officers from SAPS Search and Rescue team were called to the Sundumbili area after the boy's disappearance on Sunday morning.
It is understood the 21-month-old had been with other children at a nearby cattle kraal.

The child somehow got separated from the group.
IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Paul Herbst says concerned family members alerted authorities when they could not find him.
"A search was conducted with the assistance of SAPS K-9 Search and Rescue."
"The K-9 dog picked up a scent approximately 200 metre from the house. An hour later the little boy was recovered in a nearby stream, unfortunately he was declared deceased," he said.
