Body of missing man recovered off Virginia Beach
The body of a 27-year-old man who drowned at Virginia Beach in Durban North has been retrieved from the water.
He is said to have been pulled out to sea by a current this morning.
"On Tuesday morning, Netcare911 responded to reports of a drowning at a non-swimming beach off Virginia, in Durban. Reports from the scene indicate that a 27-year-old male, who had been with friends at the time, was pulled out by the current and eventually became submerged.
"An extensive search was conducted by the eThekwini lifeguards and the SAPS search and rescue. A gentleman's body has been found. He has been confirmed deceased," Netcare911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said.
