Body found of PMB man swept away by river

The body of a man who was swept away by a flooded river in the Henley area of Pietermaritzburg has been recovered.

The man travelled with his wife and six-year-old son when their vehicle was washed away on New Year’s Day.
The family car was later located at Henley Dam, together with the bodies of a 39-year-old mother and son.

KZN SAPS spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says the 43-year-old man’s body was found in the early hours of the morning.
"Police have registered an inquest docket after the third body of the three people whose vehicle was swept away by fast-flowing river on New Year’s Day in Pietermaritzburg was recovered. The body which was recovered today was already in a decomposed state."
