Body of fisherman recovered from Umzimkhulu River

The body of a fisherman who fell into the Umzimkhulu River on the south coast has been recovered.
The National Sea and Rescue Institute's Craig Lambinon says the man had been fishing on Shelly Beach when he lost his footing.

Lambinon says the 25-year-old was spotted in the water yesterday.
"During an extensive search operation the man was located and recovered from the water and brought to shore, where sadly paramedics declared the man deceased."
"The body of the man was taken into the care of government health forensics pathology services," he says.
An inquest docket has been opened.
