Bluff security officer shot during hijacking

Police in Durban are investigating a case of attempted murder, carjacking and robbery after a security officer was shot on the Bluff.
They say a motorist was approached by the armed hijackers at the corner of Bluff Road and Edwin Swales on Wednesday morning.
They forced him out of his car and jumped in.
As they were about to drive off, they spotted an armed response officer and shot him.

The hijackers robbed the officer of his gun before fleeing.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says he has been taken to hospital.
"A security officer, a male in his 40s, had sustained moderate injuries after a shooting incident and was stabilised on scene by advanced life support paramedics."
