Blade Nzimande applauds SAPS for arrests over college shootings

The Higher Education Ministry has welcomed the arrest of five people thought to have been involved in one of the shooting incidents at the Coastal TVET College in KwaMakhutha.
Two weeks ago three students were shot at the Umbumbulu campus.
One of them, Smanga Zulu died while the other two survived and were taken to hospital.
The suspects have appeared in court and the case has been postponed to next week Wednesday.
On Friday, The college's Head of Infrastructure Development, Lindinkosi Mazibuko was gunned down in the staff parking lot.
Two of the suspects were in court on Monday while the remaining three appeared yesterday.

Their matters were postponed and they remain in custody.
Higher Education spokesperson Ishmail Mnisi says they hope police will also make arrests soon for Mazibuko's killing.
" Mr. Nzimande is grateful to the members of the community who cooperated with the police during the investigation, the minister congratulates the SAPS for the swift arrest of the suspects.
