Erugubathi Naidoo had been giving testimony when he complained about feeling too hot.

He started sweating in the witness stand while busy with his testimony in the bail hearing of one of the accused.

Naidoo asked the magistrate if he could take a short break. The magistrate agreed and called a brief adjournment.

A short while later, paramedics arrived at the court and loaded Naidoo into an ambulance before rushing him to hospital.

The magistrate returned and adjourned the hearing until tomorrow.

Parsons' murder sparked outrage in the south Durban community last month.

The 32-year-old had been waiting in her red car with her 3-year-old daughter at a petrol station on Tara Road in Wentworth when she was shot dead.

One of the accused, Darryl Murrison has told the court he intends pleading guilty, while the second accused, Christopher Housten is applying for bail.

It is not yet clear whether Naidoo will be back in the witness box.

Before falling ill, he had been giving the court reason why accused number two, Christopher Housten should not be granted bail.

Earlier, the investigating officer had told the court that Parsons was shot dead in a case of mistaken identity.

Her killers were apparently after the occupants of another car that was similar in colour to Parsons', which had also parked at the petrol station.

Both men have been remanded into custody.
