Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
Police Minister Bheki Cele is today meeting with the SAPS' top brass - ahead of a major announcement on plans address crime in the country.

"I will be meeting with the Police's national management forum and a serious announcement will be made on how the police will turn around the crime situation in this country," Cele said.
Cele visited communities south of Durban last week, after the killing of nine-year-old Sadia Sukraj in Shallcross.
The inter-ministerial committee established to probe political killings in KZN is also expected to reconvene this week.

Ministers said they'll submit a report to President Cyril Ramaphosa but declined to comment on its contents last month.
"We have given the report to the president - with suggestions. We will be implementing new measures, and enhancing existing ones to ensure that we end the political killings taking place in KZN," he said.
