'Being angry would be a waste of time’ – father of KZN cop killed by suspected drunk driver

The father of an uMhlathuze traffic cop, who was hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver, says the family isn't angry with the person who was behind the wheel.

Nduduzo Ncanana's father says they have chosen to show compassion instead.
The motorist failed to stop at a roadblock on the N2 in Empangeni and crashed into 33-year-old Ncanana on Saturday.
Vusimuzi Ncanana says he was a loving son who was hands-on when it came to helping the family, community and church.
He says being angry at the motorist would be a waste of time.

"There is no need to get mad at the driver that killed my son. In fact, we sympathise with him because people do a lot of reckless things whilst driving under the influence. We do believe that once he sobers up he will be remorseful.”
Meanwhile, the 38-year-old suspect appeared in the Empangeni Magistrate's Court on Monday.
He was charged with culpable homicide and drunken driving.
