Baby killed in Chatsworth shack fire

A two-month-old baby has
been killed and a toddler has been left injured after a fire broke out in a
shack in Chatsworth, south of Durban.

Police spokesperson, Thenjiswa Ngcobo says the blaze broke at their home in Shallcross on Sunday.
"The mother managed to rescue the 4-year-old boy who had sustained serious injuries. The two-month-old baby could not be saved. The grandmother also sustained burn wounds.

“The child was taken to a local hospital where he remains in a stable condition. An inquest docket has been opened at Chatsworth SAPS.”
