Abahlali BaseMjondolo calls for more protection after another leader killed
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Shack dwellers movement Abahlali BaseMjondolo is
demanding urgent police action against what it calls ongoing threats against
the organization.
The call follows the assassination of a member of its KZN leadership at the weekend.
"We're disappointed with the law enforcement; we had to go and fetch the police and we know who are the perpertrators who committed this crime,” says Abahlali's Thapelo Mohapi.
Lindohukle Mnguni, who was the group's eKhenana Commune chairperson, was shot and killed in Cator Manor on Saturday.

Two gunmen are believed to have opened fire on the 28-year-old at his home.
His girlfriend was also wounded during the incident.
Mohapi says three of their leaders have been gunned down this year.
"Their intention is to attack leadership of the movement and to destroy the occupation. Earlier on this year, the deputy chairperson was also assassinated followed by Noktula Mabaso, who was the chairperson of the Women's League branch in May."
