ATM wants secret ballot for Mkhwebane vote on Monday
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The African Transformation Movement says the vote by MPs to decide suspended public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane's fate must be a secret ballot.

The National Assembly is set to vote on Monday whether or not to adopt the report compiled by the Section 194 committee that's been looking into her fitness to hold office.
It's found her guilty of misconduct and incompetence and has recommended her removal from office.

The ATM's Zama Ntshona believes the ANC will coerce its members to vote in favour of Mkhwebane’s removal.
"The Speaker must grant a secret ballot to protect Members of Parliament from the lynching reported coming for them as was the case with dissenting voiced in voice in the past.
"The Speaker must use the secret ballot to encourage the faithfulness to the Republic of South Africa and not to one man party or any other concerted plans that seek to undermine or democracy."
At least a two-thirds majority vote is needed to remove a Public Protector from office.
