ATM claims cover-up in De Ruyter’s Eskom departure
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The African Transformation Movement says former Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter must be summoned to appear before Parliament following his departure from the power utility.

Eskom says de Ruyter met with the board at a special meeting yesterday, and both parties mutually agreed to slash his notice period to the end of this month.
De Ruyter resigned late last year.
He was expected to leave after his successor had been appointed.
But last night, Eskom said he'd be vacating his office immediately.

De Ruyter has also spoke about alleged corruption in a TV interview, saying there's proof that the utility is being used as a feeding trough for the ANC.
The ATM says it's alarmed by the developments.
The party's Zama Ntshona says it indicates a deep rot within the power giant.
"The ATM views this suspicious move by the Eskom board as part of a major cover-up to prevent Mr De Ruyter from revealing more rot and implicating more cabinet ministers and top politicians.
"Mr De Ruyter has to disclose the identity of the senior minister he kept reporting these transgressions to without him taking any action.”
