Ruyter has left the power utility

Eskom says the former group chief executive met with the board at a special meeting yesterday, and both parties agreed to slash his notice period to 28 February 2023.
De Ruyter, who resigned last year, was expected to remain at the helm of the power producer until the end of March to oversee the appointment of a new CEO.
Eskom issued a press release late last night saying he will vacate office immediately. The announcement came a day after de Ruyter told news broadcaster ENCA in an interview that there was evidence that the ruling ANC saw Eskom as an, "eating trough".

The utility's spokesperson, Sikhonathi Mantshantsh says de Ruyter will not be required to serve the balance of his notice period. Still, he will be released from his position with immediate effect.
"Acting GCE arrangements are being finalised with the shareholder minister and will be communicated shortly."
