Assault charges dropped against Babes Wodumo, co-accused
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Assault charges against local artist, Bongekile 'Babes Wodumo' Simelane and her two co-accused have been dropped.
Simelane - who's known as Babe Wodumo - appeared in the Durban Magistrate's Court today, along with her sister and manager Nondumiso Simalane and fellow artist Thobeka Ndaba where the case was dissolved.
The trio were accused of assaulting a woman at a guesthouse in Umbilo in March, just days after a video of her being assaulted by her then producer Mandla Maphumulo went viral on social media.

Natasha Kara who speaks for the NPA in KZN says the matter will be settled outside court.
"The charges against three of the accused were withdrawn. This is because the complainant as well as the accused entered into a dispute resolution process - where the matter was resolved amicably," Kara said.
