Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Police have confirmed a suspect has been arrested in connection with the assault of Bongekile Simelane, known as Babes Wodumo.

National spokesperson Vish Naidoo says the suspect was arrested in Westville.
"I can confirm that the suspect wanted in connection with the Babes Wodumo assault matter has been arrested. He is currently in police custody. We are hoping to charge him soon and bring him before court on a charge of assault," Naidoo said.
Simelane shared an Instagram Live video on Sunday night in which a man, believed to be her boyfriend, Mandla 'Mampintsha' Maphumulo is seen assaulting her.
At a press conference earlier today held by Simelane's parents - her father Reverend Welcome Simelane said her daughter was not alright.
They've thanked South Africans for the support they've shown their daughter since the incident.
