Anti-Drug Forum SA welcomes Westville drug arrests
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Anti-Drug Forum South Africa says while they welcome the arrest of two men - found in possession of drugs worth a quarter of a million rand in Westville - they're calling for a speedy prosecution.
The police's drug unit swooped in on the suspects, aged 33 and 35, during an intelligence-driven operation yesterday in Chiltern Heights.
Uncut cocaine, rock cocaine and ecstasy tablets were seized. The pair is appearing at the Pinetown Magistrates Court today.
Yesterday's drug bust comes as four people were arrested in Springfield Park earlier this month.

The suspects were found manufacturing heroine capsules - at a warehouse in Springfield Park.
The forum's Sam Pillay says the conviction rate in drug-related cases is concerning.
"We are happy to hear of quick successions of these kind of confiscations of drugs from drug dealers, especially manufacturers. Specialised units are doing the work. We'd like to see these cases of significant arrests taken to the final stages where those guys are convicted and end up in jail and those shops are closed down completely."
