Another fire hits Durban settlement
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Firefighters have battled yet another blaze at an informal settlement in Durban.

The flames broke out Tuesday morning and ripped through the Dakota Informal Settlement in Isipingo, south of Durban.
It's understood that over 120 homes have been gutted.
" When I arrived, this fire was still burning. Everyone was just scattered about to try to get as much of their belongings as they could before the fire reached them. But by the time I got there, it was quite bad already. The fire department, the teams are still on the ground, extinguishing the fire,” said Billal Jeewa, from the Gift of the Givers.

Jeewa says they're waiting for confirmation from the City's Disaster Management Unit on the number of those affected.
"I don't think there's anyone who was injured or there was any death. We have provided drinks and snacks to the firefighters who are on the ground. We are waiting now for the disaster management to go on and to an assessment of how many households exactly were affected, and how many people, and what relief is required going forward."
Emergency teams, responded just days ago, to a fire at the Kennedy Road Informal Settlement in Clare Estate.
