Another fire at Durban’s China Mall in Springfield

Firefighters have been tackling a blaze that gutted several shops at Durban's China Mall in Springfield Park.
The fire's been burning since midnight on Wednesday.
eThekwini Fire's Bheki Hadebe says the flames tore through the roof of the complex.

He says they've managed to stop the blaze from spreading.
“At the moment, it is damping down. It is a lot of shops that are affected."
Meanwhile, Hadebe says the structural integrity of the mall has been compromised, which is why access to the site is prohibited.
Some walls have already started collapsing.
