ANC's Mzimkhulu Thebolla takes the reigns in Msunduzi

The African National Congress’ (ANC) Mzimkhulu Thebolla has returned as the mayor of Msunduzi.

He was elected with 53 of the 71 votes that were cast on Monday afternoon.
Mxolisi Mkhize is the new deputy mayor of the municipality, while the council has re-elected Eunice Majola as Speaker.
In eThekwini, Thabani Nyawose has been elected Speaker of council.
In his speech, he said as councillors, they assure residents they will deliver.
"Our people expect all councillors to provide visionary, inspirationally and exemplary leadership at a local level.
"They expect us as councillors to put people first and be the champion.
"They also expect us to listen attentively to what people want and complaints about and be approachable and we move all forms of gatekeeping in managing the city."
