ANC's KZN election re-run unlikely: expert
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
A political analyst believes it is unlikely that the ANC will have a re-run of its KwaZulu-Natal provincial elective conference.
Supporters of Premier Senzo Mchunu yesterday marched to the party's offices in Durban calling for the re-run.
They allege the recent conference was rigged and that the results were released on social media before a formal announcement was made.
Political analyst Protas Madlala says this might impact on the party's national elections.
''The ANC used to pride itself as KwaZulu-Natal and Durban being the strongest and as the most rated regions of the organisation.
''I think it's an open secret now that the ANC is divided particularly in KwaZulu-Natal which might have a serious impact on it's national elective conferences,'' he said.
The party's provincial secretary Super Zuma has refuted the allegations.
''It was monitored by more than 30 National Executive Committee members and we had eleven representatives from each region,'' he said.
