ANC to work closely with UKZN youth alliance after strike action

Destruction of property at the University of KwaZulu-Natal saw the institution bring its recess period forward.
Students at three of the campuses protested over fee increases, the conditions at residences and financial aid.
Alleged policy brutality surfaced as one of the concerns at a march in at the Pietermaritzburg campus last week.

The ANC's Super Zuma told reporters in Durban yesterday that the task team will work with the Progressive Youth Alliance in an effort to find a lasting solution.
"We strongly condemn the act of vandalism which has absolutely no connection whatsoever with the legitimate call for free and quality education. We call upon the student leadership and students in general to exercise constraints and act with a sense of responsibility," he said.
Last week, university property on all campuses namely the law library on Howard College Campus and vehicles at Westville were set alight - causing management to shut down all institutions.
