ANC says will respect MK party ruling
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
The ANC says it will respect and adhere to the Electoral Court's decision to deny its challenge of the registration of the uMkhonto we Sizwe party by the IEC.
It had argued that the new party's registration by Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Mawethu Mosery, was unlawful.
The ruling party says Mosery went against procedure when he allowed MK to supplement its registration application after its initial one was rejected.
The ANC says the party should have filed a fresh application.

The Electoral Court sitting in the High Court in Johannesburg today found that the deputy CEO acted in compliance with the law.
Reacting to the dismissal of its court application, the ANC maintains it’s not against the MK party or its existence, but with the way the IEC registered it.
Meanwhile, the Independent Electoral Commission says Tuesday's ruling provides the necessary clarity and certainty to facilitate the completion of candidate nomination processes.
