ANC KZN urges wise use of water
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal has raised concerns over the impact of the drought on farming communities in the province warning of the potential negative impact on food security.

KZN is in the midst of its worst drought since the 90s leaving Hazelmere Dam levels at roughly 30%.
The conditions have also forced the provincial government to implement water rationing measures in some areas.
Briefing the media in Durban yesterday Provincial Secretary Sihle Zikalala called on communities to heed the calls and use water sparingly.
''The ANC calls on all sectors in the society including private sector to play their part and contribute in the campaign to save water.
''We call on the industry to ensure that there are water conservation messages in all premises and to contribute in assisting the government to augment water capacity,'' he said.
