ANC has no replacement for Ramaphosa, says analyst
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
One political analyst believes the ANC currently does not have anyone to replace President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Ramaphosa told the Cape Town Press Club on Thursday that he has been asked by his party to serve a second term as head of state, and he has accepted.
Analyst Zakhele Ndlovu says believes Ramaphosa is tainted and says any potential replacements would be viewed in the same light.

He added that Ramaphosa would be vulnerable during a second term because issues like the Phala Phala robbery saga would constantly be hanging over his head.
"Just about every president, other than (former president Thabo) Mbeki was tainted and had a cloud hanging over their head. His failures as president, dealing with issues such as load shedding and the ministers who were perceived to have done a horrible job with the 2021 riots. They were not removed. It’s been a huge disappointment for those who expected him to perform better, especially for someone from a business background."
