ANC calls for political tolerance ahead of elections
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
Hundreds of people took part in yesterday's peace walk and prayer session against political killings in the province.
The ruling party's provincial chairperson, Sihle Zikalala told those who had gathered in Newcastle that political murders must be dealt with swiftly.
The ANC says at least 11 members have been killed in recent months.
The IFP and NFP have also been affected.
Zikalala says everyone should ensure the elections take place under peaceful conditions.
"We want a clear message, as the ANC we are not going to accept any form of destabilisation of the organisation. If it comes from within the ranks of the organisation, we want to send a clear message that we will be very harsh. We are not going to accept these situations" he said.
