Almost 500 cops killed since 2018
The South African Police Service has called for an end to the attacks on police officers.
It says 488 cop killers have been jailed since 2018.
On Sunday, officers paid tribute to their fallen colleagues at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
Police Minister Bheki Cele says at least 76 suspects were arrested over the past year, nine were handed life sentences.

"Sadly the sun sets prematurely on 34 of our own. From April last year to March 2023 34 SAPS offices including four female offices were brutally killed while on the line of duty ."
The police's top brass laid wreaths as part of the tribute.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Cyril Ramaphosa praised the team that foiled a cash-in-transit robbery in Makhado, Limpopo.
Nineteen suspects were killed in the shootout on Friday.
"It is now time to show that the authority of the state cannot be disrespected."
