The almost 400 South African National Defence Force soldiers deployed to the KwaDukuza Municipality will soon begin to assist with relief efforts.
This follows the devastating floods, which left over 400 people dead.
They have established a military base at Gledhow Sporting facility, which will be their home until 16 June.

They were officially welcomed by the Municipal Mayor Lindiwe Nhaca on Thursday.
"The mayor of KwaDukuza councillor Lindiwe Nhaca has received a contingent of 397 SANDF members who have been deployed to the region to assist the municipality's teams in the recovery of infrastructure; that was devastated as a result of the storms that had occurred," says municipal spokesperson Sipho Mkhize.
