A Pietermaritzburg man accused of killing his
estranged wife, on Mother's Day weekend, plans to apply for bail.

Delana Rawlins, who is a well-known gospel singer in the area, was shot dead in Ashburton on Saturday.
Police say the mother of three had been at a party when an argument broke out between the two, who are in the process of a divorce.
It's understood that Rawlins' brother intervened and decided to drive her home.
Officers say as they were driving along Wally Hayward Drive in Ashburton, they were stopped by Rawlins' husband Ian.
It's alleged that he opened fire, shooting Rawlins several times.
He handed himself over to the police the next day.
