Alarming silence surrounding Steinhoff saga: KZN ANCYL
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
The ANC Youth League in KZN says it's surprised at the lack of public exposure given to Steinhoff International Holdings.

"We are also very disturbed by the silence of people who have been very vocal about corruption in the public sector and about state capture. The likes of the DA, the EFF, SaveSA, the likes of the communist party (SACP), Makhosi Khoza, and including members of the ANC," says the league's Kwazi Mshengu.
He believes the relative silence surrounding former Steinhoff CEO, Markus Jooste is meant to prejudice the African child.
The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission is set to launch an investigation into possible non-compliance with the Companies Act.

Meanwhile, Steinhoff released a statement today saying its 2016 consolidated financial statements will need to be restated and can no longer be relied upon.
The company says it's taking all the necessary steps to address the audit issues and will keep the market informed of any material developments.
