The life of rapper Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes was celebrated in Johannesburg on Friday.

Family, friends, fans and industry colleagues gathered at the Sandton Convention Centre for his memorial service.
Forbes and his friend and former manager, Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane were shot and killed on Florida Road in Durban exactly a week ago.
Mahlatse Sethole, is the CEO of the Move agency that worked with Forbes, said the artist was unwavering in his convictions.
"In true fashion and style Kiernan was a type of individual, especially when it came to work, who always demanded the best and he wanted the level of intensity and work ethic to be matched."

"He never waived and when it came to conducting businesses and deals, he was very vocal on how he wanted things to be done. He always trusted his gut."
Musician and entrepreneur Thabo Bogopa, the 'Make the Circle Bigger' hitmaker popularly known as JR, knew AKA for over 15 years.
"Kiernan would never hang up the phone without saying 'I love you'. Me, Kiernan and Jabu, there was never anything hard for us to say. Those three words were words that were easily spoken.
"Kiernan always loved and was proud of his family, more especially his daughter who was and still is the apple of his eye and he spoke about Kairo all the time - her accomplishments at school, performances, growth.
"Kiernan and I has a special bond of fatherhood and I think that's one of the things that I will probably miss the most."
