Adam Catzavelos gets suspended sentence for racist rant
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Adam Catzavelos has been fined R50 000 or two years in prison for his racist rant.

He filmed himself while on holiday in Greece using the k-word and pleaded guilty.
The sentence handed down by the Randburg Magistrates' Court is wholly suspended.
Catzavelos still has to pay the R150 000 settlement reached between him and the SA Human Rights Commission over 30 months.
He's also doing community service in Soweto.

The SA Human Rights Commission says although not proportionate to the crime committed it still welcomes.
The commission's Boang Jones hopes that South Africa will one day be free of racism.
"We believe that those who subscribe to an ideal of racism free South Africa far outweigh those who don't. The fine will not be proportional to the harm of hateful speech but we hope that society will learn that we can no longer tolerate racism," said Boang.
