Action SA councillor in Newcastle survives gun attack

Action SA expects its KwaZulu-Natal councillor, who survived
a gun attack, to make a full recovery.

Mzwakhe Mbatha was shot by an unknown gunman in Newcastle in northern KZN.
The party's Busi Radebe says he's been receiving treatment in Madadeni Hospital since Tuesday night.

"A man approached his vehicle and knocked on the window. Councillor Mbatha refused to open the window, he was shot by the assailant in the face and the bullet exited at the back of his neck.
“At this time we cannot confirm whether or not the attack was personal or politically motivated. We look forward to the law enforcement investigation into the matter.”
