ANCYL in KZN slams 'unreasonable' delays in Magaqa murder trial
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The ANC Youth League in KZN says it's extremely disturbed by what it calls another unreasonable delay in Sindiso Magaqa's murder trial.
"It's been five years already, to date we don't know what actually happened. The case has not been finalised, they keep postponing it," says the spokesperson for the ANC Youth League in KZN Sibonelo Nomvalo.
The youth league secretary-general was shot and killed in 2017.
His murder case has been postponed to mid-September for a pre-trial hearing, with the matter set to get underway in October.

The four accused lined up in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Wednesday, with the defence saying it wants to conduct its own investigations into the matter.
"We called the NPA to do whatever is necessary to ensure the case is resolved within 2022," says Nomvalo.
Meanwhile, Police Minister Bheki Cele attended the case on Wednesday.
"Usually you don't find defence resisting so much, of starting not trialling. The state says let's start tomorrow," he said.
