Ace Magashule granted R200,000 bail

ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule has been granted bail of R200 000 by the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court.
He's facing 20 counts of fraud, corruption and money laundering relating to a R255 million Free State asbestos audit contract.
The State had pushed for bail to be set at R250 000 arguing the allegations were serious. It said it wasn't opposed to his release - as long as he agreed to the conditions.
Granting bail - Magistrate Amos Moos warned Magashule not communicate with any State witnesses.
The matter is due back in court on 19 February.

The NPA's Sipho Ngwenya. "We are hoping in February we should be able to set a trial date which will take place in high court as soon as that matter is dealt with."

ANC Ekurhuleni Regional Chairperson Mzwandile Masina and ANC spokesperson, Pule Mabe were in court to show support.
Before his appearance, Some of Magashule's supporters were involved in a scuffle with police outside court.
