Accused kidnappers of Amahle Mthimkhulu to remain behind bars

The man and woman arrested in connection with the kidnapping of eight-year-old Amahle Mthimkhulu last week, will remain behind bars a little longer.
Thirty-year-old Sizwe Mpanza and 26-year-old Nondumiso Ngema appeared in the KwaDukuza Magistrate's Court on Monday, where their case was postponed for bail application.
Amahle was taken from outside Dawnview Primary School on Wednesday last week, while she waited for her transport home.

A ransom was later demanded from her family.
The girl was found unharmed at a shopping centre in Umhlanga on Friday, where Mpanza and Ngema were also arrested.
Police say one of them was caught while trying to withdraw the alleged ransom money. They say the child was found waiting in a car with the other suspect.
KZN National Prosecution Authority spokesperson Natasha Kara says the two accused's case was postponed to November for bail investigation.
Kara says they will remain in custody till their next court appearance.

Meanwhile, the family of Amahle Mthimkhulu says the child has been badly affected by the ordeal.
Her aunt, Zamanguni Mzimela, says although Amahle is back home and safe, they have picked up signs of aggression which is understanding given the trauma she has been through.
"She is doing ok, but she has been a bit aggressive. I think the way they were talking to her was in a harsh way. She seems angry about that stuff." says Mzimela.
