Children SA says every second counts when children have been kidnapped or go
missing.
This follows the abduction of a two-month old baby boy during a home invasion in Chatsworth this past weekend.
It's alleged the armed suspects robbed the family before taking the infant.
National coordinator Bianca van Aswegen says while she believes investigating officers are hot on the heels of the suspects, it's unfortunate this adds to the growing list of child kidnappings recorded in the past year.
She says finding the motive behind the abduction will be key to cracking the case.

"Unfortunately, as time goes by people start to get more worried about what happened, what is the reason behind the kidnapping, why has this child been taken.
"So there's many reasons why kidnappings happen, we got opportunistic kidnapping, we got human trafficking, we got kidnappings for ransom, we got extortion cases. We need to find out what is the motive behind it and then police will investigate as thoroughly as possible."
