Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Police are investigating after an infant was found in the bushes in Tongaat last night.
The baby girl believed to be six-weeks-old was rescued by a tow truck owner who received calls from a jogger who heard crying coming from the bushy area near the Amanzamnyama Park.
Ismail Mitha says when he arrived he found the baby wrapped up in a blanket.

"The child was malnourished and because of her being hungry she was crying quite a bit. I immediately contacted IPSS and police."
The baby was taken to hospital for a medical check-up.
Police have confirmed they're investigating a case of child abandonment.
