8-year-old girl killed in Durban North crash

An 8-year-old girl has died after being struck by a delivery van in Durban North this afternoon.

Crisis Medical's Kyle van Reenen says medics found the child in cardiac arrest when they arrived at the scene of the accident in Avoca.
"After a period of about 45 minutes of CPR are pulse was regained and the patient was loaded into an ambulance. Unfortunately, while en route to hospital she went into cardiac arrest again," he said.
Resuscitation efforts were not successful the second time and she was declared deceased by paramedics.
